The debut JAM release from THIRD OF NEVER is already in my top 10 list for 2007. The cd is a must have for all power pop fans. The brain child of Jon Dawson, THIRD OF NEVER boasts an all star line up with appearances from members of THE GRIP WEEDS, THE SMITHEREENS, and THE WHO. Kurt Reil does the lead vocals, drums, keys, and guitars, John "Rabbit" Bundrick lays down some classic Mellotron and other keyboard sounds. John Dawson covers guitars, Vince Grogan on Bass, CJ Grogan on guitars, vocals, keys, and harmonica. Dennis Diken on Drums, with Kristen Reil on slide guitar. If you dig The Beatles, The Grip Weeds, New England, Foo Fighters, and The Who, you will find much to like here. Their cover of Pete Townsends "Let my love open the Door" eclipses the original with it's over the top energy and hard drive. "Mood Ring" is a feel good release with many positive sound vibrations. ( The cd is grade A all the way) Once you pop this in your player, you'll be in the mood to hear "Mood Ring" over and over again. Releases this good only come along once in a blue moon so don't miss out. Bottom line: Get it now!
